The Certificate in Islamic Studies covers 6 basic subjects of Islamic knowledge. The selected texts are unique and rich in content. After the completion of the course, the student is expected to understand the basic principles and etiquettes of Islāmic knowledge.
Course Curriculum Subjects

‘Aqīdah: Umm al-Barāhīn/al-Imām Al-Sannūsī.
This text covers the basic Aqīdah with rational evidences
and the discussion about polemics between muslim sects. Al-Imām al-Sannūsī is
considered a master of Islamic theology and his works serve as the foundations
in this field.

Ulūm al-Qur‘ān: Jawāhir al-Qur‘ān/al-Imām al-Ghazālī.
This text covers gems and principles of understanding the
book of Allāh. Complied in a unique manner by the greatest polymath of Muslim
intellectual history: al-Imām al-Ghazālī.

Hadīth: Concise Bukhārī/al-Imām ibn Abī Jamrah.
Concise Bukhārī covers 296 Ahādīth from Sahīh al-Bukhārī.
Reading with basic interpretation will be undertaken. al-Imām ibn Abī Jamrah is
one of the authorities on Hadīth and Tasswuf.

Akhlaq: Risālah al-Akhlāq/al-Imām al-’Ījī.
This brief treatise on Ethics by al-Imām ‘Adud al-Dīn al-’Ījī, another great muslim theologian, serves as a foundation in this field. It covers the principles of ethics and the method of achieving self discipline.

Adab of Seeking Knowledge: Ta‘līm al-Muta‘allim/al-Imām al-Zarnūjī.
This basic text in etiquettes of seeking knowledge is the first stop for every genuine and sincere seeker. It covers the basic ādāb to enter and tread this divine path of knowledge.

Fiqh: Matn al-Gāyah wa al-Taqrīb/al-Imām Abū Shujā‘.
This is a standard beginners text in the ‘ilm of Fiqh according to the Shāf‘ī madhab. It covers all important chapters of ‘Ibādāt and Mu‘āmalāt. Reading with brief explanation of the text will be undertaken in this subject.
The 6 months course is divided into Part 1 & Part 2
Part - I (3 months):
Monday: Aqidah
Tuesday: Ulūm al-Qur’ān.
Thursday: Ādāb of seeking knowledge.
Part - II (3 months) :
Monday: Hadīth.
Tuesday: Fiqh.
Thursday: Akhlāq.
